This is my latest work in progress and I’m loving the process. She is created from watercolors and mostly mermaid markers. These mermaid markers by Jane Davenport use to scare me so much but not there is just something so rewarding and amazing when I use them to create. I love watching the colors blend and it can be done so many different ways. I love watercolors so much and creating this way, it brings out the little girl in me who loves to play in the water. When I think back a year ago of how I wanted to use these and how I am using them now, I am so glad I pushed through all those ugly phases and continued working with them. She is not completed and is a work in progress but I can already see what she is becoming and am excited to continue the process and play in the colors!!

Forest Dreams girl was originally started as a project to replace one of my earlier girls that is currently framed and on our dining room wall. She is my first watercolor girl I have created and created her for our dining room but have wanted to update her for awhile. Forest Dreams took on a life of her own and while I do not think she will end up being the replacement, I am happy with who she became. Forest Dreams is available to purchase on my website and coming to Etsy soon!
I am always trying new things, I think I always will be. I get an idea, I get inspired, I want to express it and I want to paint it. Blossom Girl started in my art journal and just kept going. Blossom was created with Daniel Smith watercolors and Jane Davenport mermaid markers.
I was asked to create something and it was needed right away. Normally I don’t agree to doing something so quickly because I don’t feel like I can provide my best when it’s in a rush, but this commissioned work proved me wrong. I was working to finish art work needed for a upcoming show. I had to get it completed so it could be rushed framed and matted. I was then contacted to create this artwork for a service this week. Although I had concerns I changed my plans, something told me to do what I needed to do to get it done for her. As I worked on it, I filled with emotions, I can’t even imagine experiencing such a loss as she has but I am very grateful to have been able to create something for her and that means a lot to her.
Raining Butterflies was created using Jane Davenport Watercolors and digital elements. Raining Butterflies is available as a print and also soon to be added to my Etsy Shop! Click here to purchase!
